Better golfers, better people.
Our mission is to positively affect children's lives through the game of golf. Having fun in an enriching environment is our number one priority, and we teach golf skills and life skills as one and the same.
Our story
Josh started GSH with a simple belief: golf is a game for a lifetime when it is nurtured as such. Today some of the kids who learned here are the ones coaching here.
-
2009
Good Swings Happen begins
Josh Alpert founds the academy to give juniors of all ages and skill levels golf that is accessible, affordable, safe, fun, and professionally managed.
-
Then
Classes, leagues, camps, and lessons
Programs grow at Westdrift Golf Course in Manhattan Beach, from first-swing classes to junior leagues, summer camps, and private coaching.
-
2023
The mental game goes deeper
Josh becomes Junior Golf Director for Flow Performance Group, bringing flow-state training and the DCE Method to our players.
-
Now
The GSH Hub, and coaches who grew up here
Our indoor training facility in Lawndale adds simulator bays, a putting green, and year-round practice. Matt Ferradas, our Director of Programs, and Jackson Nordquist, our Lead Instructor, both came up through GSH as junior golfers.

How we coach the whole player.
Swing mechanics, etiquette, and course management matter. So does what happens between the ears. Every GSH player learns Josh's seven Mental Mantras, simple words to come back to when a round gets hard.
